Our Story
The Al Frescos were born in 2017 when a band was needed to perform at a school fundraising event. They settled on the name Al Frescos when they learned that the event would take place outside. The four friends—Jarrett, Rico, Matt, and John—then started weekly practices and the band was off and running. Most of the initial Al Frescos performances were, in fact, outside, including monthly shows at Whisler's, playing at the Texas Playboys baseball games, and different parties. During the COVID shutdown, the band kept rehearsing (outside of course, sometimes under heat lamps) and continued writing songs. Al Frescos still cover their favorite artists like The Rolling Stones, The Beatles, Grateful Dead, Hank Williams, Son Volt, and various other rock, blues, and country artists, but have started to include much more of their original material.
